Our Mission

Conference of Atlantic Medical Students (CoAMS) is a group designed to engage undergraduate medical students, members of the public and students of other health alliance professions to create lasting bonds and to celebrate studying medicine in Atlantic Canada.

The primary goal of the website is to create an appealing, user-friendly, and informative platform that effectively presents the Conference of Atlantic Medical Students.

CoAMS 2024 will be hosted by Dalhousie University of Nova Scotia in April of 2024 where medical students from across Atlantic Canada are invited to take part in the conference.

This conference seeks to facilitate student networking to build a strong community environment among Atlantic medical students that will promote knowledge sharing and future collaboration. To accomplish this, a series of medical talks and workshops will be offered to students by a variety of health care professionals and related professions.

The Conference of Atlantic Medical Students is proud to present this year’s theme:

INNOVATION AND INSPIRATION: RESILIENCE IN A WORLD OF CHANGE

  • Climate Change and Disaster Response

Discussing topics surrounding climate change and social inequities, global health and equity, changing epidemiology of disease and how we as future physicians can be better prepared for responding to natural disasters when they hit close to home.

  • Mental Resilience

Discussing mental wellbeing in physicians, students and the general population, along with strategies to remain resilient throughout an ever-changing and challenging career. With optimism and innovation, we will look for opportunities for improvement in our healthcare systems, to better allow us to serve our patients and communities.
